Vehicle Rental Terms

DRAFT — Pending attorney review. These terms are provisional. A finalised Vehicle Rental Agreement is provided to every renter at the time of handover. This page is published for transparency, not as a binding contract.
1. Eligibility
To rent a vehicle through Oji's Auto Solutions, you must be at least 23 years of age and hold a valid driver's licence that has been held for a minimum of two years. These are provisional eligibility criteria — marked as draft — and may be adjusted before the first paid booking is accepted.
2. Booking confirmation
A booking enquiry submitted through this website is not a confirmed reservation. Confirmation is communicated by Oji's Auto Solutions via WhatsApp (+1 876-305-4477) or email, and requires receipt of the applicable deposit before the booking is secured.
3. Deposit and rates
Rates and deposit amounts are as published on each vehicle's detail page at the time of booking. Published rates are in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) and do not include any applicable government tax unless stated. Deposits are held against damage and returned within five business days of vehicle return, subject to inspection.
4. Pickup and return
Vehicle handover is conducted at UWI Mona, Kingston, or at a location confirmed in writing at the time of booking. The renter is responsible for returning the vehicle to the agreed location, at the agreed time, with a fuel level no lower than at handover. Late returns are subject to an additional hourly charge at the published rate.
5. Authorised use
The renter may not use the vehicle for hire (rideshare, taxi, or courier operations), racing, off-road driving, or any unlawful purpose. The vehicle must not be driven by any person not listed on the rental agreement. Any breach of these conditions may result in immediate termination of the rental and forfeiture of the deposit.
6. Insurance and damage
All vehicles carry the minimum statutory third-party insurance required in Jamaica. Collision damage waiver (CDW) is available as a paid add-on at rates to be confirmed at the time of booking. Without CDW, the renter is liable for the full cost of damage to the vehicle up to the vehicle's market value, less any insurance recovery.
7. Tucson authorised-use disclosure
The 2019 Hyundai Tucson (Plate 4364 JE) is operated under a Vehicle Sale Agreement 2025. Title to this vehicle is held by the sellers pending instalment completion. It is authorised for rental use under the terms of that agreement.
8. Cancellation
Cancellations received more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time are eligible for a full deposit refund. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit 50% of the deposit. No-shows forfeit the full deposit. We reserve the right to cancel any booking for operational reasons and will provide a full refund in that event.
9. Governing law
These rental terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Disputes arising from a rental transaction are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jamaican courts.
