Kola. Bissy. Provisions.
Kola, bissy, and other Jamaican provisions, prepared traditionally and packaged with care. Recipes and supply lines are in test.
Where this stands today. No products are for sale. No claims of food-safety certification or export licensing are made. The arm activates with the Coopers Hill restaurant or a first external catering contract.
Researching small-batch processing and packaging that respects the tradition and the sourcing.
A composed bissy preparation for the moments when it is needed most — travel, recovery, home.
Goods sourced and packaged for Jamaicans abroad. A long-horizon idea with a known market.
“The kola nut is the gift presented on arrival. We carry the name as a standard.”
Oji — the Igbo word for kola nut — is the namesake of the group. The kola nut is the gift presented on arrival, the offering that opens a gathering, the gesture of welcome and blessing. Bissy is its Jamaican relation: the cola nut, used for centuries as a digestive and remedy.
The Foods arm carries both. When it opens, it will be rooted in this tradition — not a marketing story, but the actual thing.
Add yourself to the list. We will write when the arm is ready.
